For those unfamiliar with BANG, it is a Barter And Networking Group that was started in Winnipeg, Manitoba as a networking event and for local business owners to investigate alternative methods of conducting transactions for excess stock and to conserve cash.

Barter is essentially the oldest form of transaction in human society, where there was some form of direct trade of value between someone who has something desirable and someone who would like that thing.

While we now use some form of cash as our basic form of capital for conducting transactions, there's almost always an element of negotiation of value or exchange, meaning that barter is still alive and well in our cultures.

BANG has grown to be much more than just a networking event and now encompasses aspects of community development, including economic development, as well as a sharing of knowledge and information in order to help provide solutions for members in both their businesses as well as their personal lives.
